From the first beat drop, “Just Here with My Friends” is electrifying! The Darcys’ new single is perfect for any summer jam. It’s been a while since the Toronto-based duo has dropped new music (the last single they dropped was back in December). The Darcys never fail to bring the nostalgic 80's vibe back. Their music features heavy use of synths, electric guitar and distorted vocals.

In “Just Here with My Friends,” the duo teams up with lead singer of Canadian rock band, July Talk’s Leah Fay. The single is pulsing, energetic and explosive. Both the vocals and the music brings the listener back to the 80’s nightclub scene. The song kicks off with a driving beat played by the hi-hats, and synth interjections. The pre-chorus brings the listener into a hazy trance before kicking into the chorus with the lyrics, “Bright lights, I just want to dance tonight.” Leah Fay’s raspy voice is unique and gives off a sort of Dolly Parton vibe. In the bridge, the voices exchange lines as the music returns to the hazy trance. The song ends by kicking back into the party-vibe chorus and makes you want to keep on dancing even after the song is over.
