Scott Helman Drops New Album, “Hôtel de Ville”
Hôtel de Ville is Canadian artist, Scott Helman’s first full-length album. It is based on the same name street in Montreal.
This album is unique because each song takes the listener on a journey of Helman’s stort. From the first song, “Intro” to the last song, “House Key”, each song has a deeper meaning and has a distinct mood.
His lyrics are very honest and relatable, which is especially prominent in songs like “PDA” and “You Made Her”.
Each song feels very intimate and as Helman said, “invokes a certain feeling”.
Helman’s musical style is fresh and feels different from other artists because of the pureness and energy found in each song.
In May, Helman will be performing at the CBC Music Festival along with big Canadian artists such as Walk Off the Earth and Serena Ryder. This will be my second time going to see him live, and his energy and talent is undeniable.
This album perfect for relaxing at home or riding the bus as it has a perfect balance of upbeat songs and slow acoustic tunes.
His songs are easy to listen to as they are catchy and beautifully written.
Scott Helman is a rising star in the pop music scene and I am looking forward to more of his music in the future.
