Imagine Dragons Releases Fourth Song of Upcoming Album
With the release of their new album, “Evolve” quickly approaching, Imagine Dragons releases one of the songs which will be on their album, “Walking the Wire”
“Walking the Wire” starts off sounding a bit like One Republic’s “Counting Stars” with its anticipative beats and repetitive chords played on the piano.
However, about 30 seconds into the song, the repetitiveness starts becoming boring. The verses are similar with almost no musical shifts and the choruses are not their best work.
It seems that the only lyrics in the chorus are “We’re walking the wire…”, which does not give much depth to the meaning of the song.
The only upside to the song is the guitar riff near the end which brings the vibe of the piece to a new level. I was expecting something after the big chorus, which I did not get. This made the song seem like it ended suddenly and I wanted to hear more.
“Evolve” is Imagine Dragons’s third album and is set to be released on June 23, 2017.
