Highlights from Toronto’s CBC Music Festival
There is so much musical talent in Canada but it seems like it is hard tocome accross successful Canadian artists. CBC Music Festival was a great way to celebrate local talent on a larger scale.
The CBC Music Festival’s all Canadian lineup included Walk Off The Earth, Serena Ryder, Scott Helman, Ruth B, and Keys n’ Crates.
The festival is a great family-friendly event as children under 12 years of age can get in for free, and the tickets were not too pricey.
The lineup this year interested me quite a bit and I was excited to see the performances.
We saw performances from rock bands to acapella groups to more jazzy bands.
This event is a great way to see new and emerging local artists. The audiences were very responsive and receptive of the different types of music.
The performance by The Beaches was one that stood out for me. Their energy and coolness was undeniably contagious, and many people danced to their radio hit, “Give It Up” as they played.
The festival went late into the night and ended with a spectacular display of fireworks.
